Home Learning Reminders
Dear Parents,
I wanted to remind you that my expectation for Reading homework is a minimum of 35 minutes of reading each night. If your child is able to get on the computer, I also recommend Achieve 3000 or i-Ready reading a couple time a week. i-Ready reading helps sharpen reading skills and Achieve 3000 increases reading stamina and improves reading strategies in nonfiction reading. Either Achieve or i-Ready reading will count towards the 35 minutes of reading. Most Mondays a new vocabulary list goes home. On Tuesday we go over the new vocabulary together. There is a practice quiz on the list of LINKS on this blog for studying, and finally on Friday we take a test on the use of those words.
Thank you for your support and encouragement to help your child to become a better reader.
Here is the cover of the novel we will begin this week.
