Good-bye Destiny, we will miss you at Beauclerc!

The students in Mrs. Donnelly and Mrs. Jenkins' homerooms will miss their friend and classmate Destiny when she and her family move back to Virginia. We knew this terrific family might not be in Jacksonville long because Destiny's dad is in the Navy, but that did not stop us from loving this awesome kid. Good luck in your new home; we will all miss you!!!

Pajama Day

Mrs. Jenkins' class spent their last day in December kicking back in their pj's reading holiday books and building marshmallow snowmen. Another fun day in fourth grade!

Holiday Celebration

Fourth graders in Mrs. Jenkins' homeroom celebrated the holidays with a class breakfast. They ate for two days straight because parents sent in so much food. The students also enjoyed a candy cane tug-o-war, a snowman relay race, a jigsaw puzzle contest and a bubble gum blowing contest. What a terrific day!

Fall Comes to Florida

Teachers and students enjoyed the cooler temperatures of fall with some time on the playground.

Fourth Graders Enjoy the Theater

Fourth graders went on a field trip to the beautiful Florida Theater in downtown Jacksonville. They watched a musical presentation of Otherwise Known as Shelia the Great by Judy Blume. The actors did a terrific job of bringing a book to life for these students. And the fourth graders were good little ambassadors of Beauclerc Elementary.

Be Safe Marine!

This is Lance Corporal Jaclyn Freda, Mrs. Jenkins' daughter who is serving with the Marines in Afghanistan. Be safe and come home soon, Jaclyn.

Dead Word Celebration!

Students from Mrs. Donnelly and Mrs. Jenkins' classes learned how to add more concrete details to their writing by replacing over used words with synonyms they found in a thesaurus. Headstones were made to "bury" the DEAD or over used words. Their dead word graveyard is hanging outside room 44. This activity was followed by a dead word celebration where students decorated headstone cookies and enjoyed a well earned treat.
