Working on Comprehension

An author study is the perfect time to work on theme especially if the author is Chris Van Allsburg.

Who is the Mystery Reader???

It's Ms. Beverly Haight… Ms. Beverly read Just a Dream by Chris Van Allsburg to our fourth graders this week.  She was the perfect person to read this book about taking care of the earth, since she is Beauclerc's Recycle Queen.  Great big THANK YOU to you, Ms. Beverly!

Scientific Method

Fourth graders love science, and they have been thinking like some super scientists learning about the scientific method!  Check out Mrs. Donnelly's beautiful bulletin board!

Buddy Reading = Lots of Fun

Fourth graders from Mrs. Donnelly and Mrs. Jenkins' classes enjoyed reading with first graders and Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Williams.  Our students choose one of their favorite Chris Van Allsburg book to share with a buddy.  They each read the book independently, and then made a list of questions they could ask a first grader about the book. I was so proud of how well the fourth graders did with their buddies.  It was awesome to watch them shared what they are learning in our Van Allsburg author study!
